Update to Families Sept 20

September 20, 2021

Families,

I hope you are settling in to the new school year.

I have the following information to share.

• Curriculum Night: Based on last week’s announcement from the Provincial Government to remain in Phase 4 of the Province’s reopening plan and with consultation from the SAC, the school will not host curriculum night as planned. Teachers will send home a copy of the curriculum outline Thursday, September 23. Please contact your student’s teacher if you have any questions.
• Relocation Drill Thursday, September 23. RCMP will be on site to help ensure the safety of our students. See Attachment for details.
• Please return the Terry Fox pledge sheet by September 23 whether or not you collected money.
• Please update and return the registration forms as soon as possible.
• Please return Student image/Student work consent form.
• The 1st Gays River Scouting group is currently looking for volunteers to fill leadership roles and group committee roles. If this is something that might interest you please contact Karen Erskine @ krenlhare@gmail.com for more information. Free training provided.
• Thank you to the Marchand family for repairing the GaGa pit.
• Reminder there is no school for students September 24 (professional development) and September 30 (Truth and Reconciliation Day)

This information will also be posted on the school’s web site at https://dts.hrce.ca/

If you have any questions please contact me at 902-883-3000.

Kindest regards,
